GEORGE TOWN, PENANG — The School of The Arts (SOTA), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), will host the Malaysia Preliminary Round of the 21st Zhongsin International Music Competition on 15 November 2026 (Sunday).
Organised by Distinct DMC Music Centre, the prestigious international music competition provides a platform for aspiring musicians to showcase their musical talents, develop their performance confidence and gain valuable experience in an international competitive setting.
The competition will feature four main categories:
- Piano
- String Instruments
- Chinese Folk Instruments
- Vocal
With the theme “Malaysia Preliminary • Singapore Final”, participants who successfully progress through the preliminary stage will have the opportunity to compete at the Singapore Final.
Live and Online Competition
Participants can take part through either the Live Competition or Online Competition category.
The Live Competition registration period is from 1 August to 31 October 2026, while registration for the Online Competition is open from 17 August to 11 November 2026.
The Malaysia Preliminary Round for the Live Competition will be held at the School of The Arts, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) on 15 November 2026.
