RINTIS’26 Art Graduation Showcase Celebrates Creativity, Innovation, and Artistic Excellence

RINTIS’26 Art Graduation Showcase successfully celebrated the creativity, innovation, and artistic excellence of graduating students from the School of the Arts (SOTA), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).
Held under the theme “Nexus” with the tagline “The Glitch of Connection,” this year’s showcase explored the intersections of fragmentation, transformation, and convergence across various artistic disciplines. Drawing inspiration from glitch aesthetics, RINTIS’26 highlighted the evolving nature of creative practices and demonstrated how diverse artistic approaches can intersect, challenge boundaries, and generate new forms of expression.
The showcase featured an impressive collection of works by graduating students from three interconnected disciplines: Music (◉), Fine Arts (≈), and Drama & Theatre (≠). Together, these disciplines formed a creative nexus that underscored the values of collaboration, experimentation, and interdisciplinary engagement within contemporary artistic practice.
The opening ceremony was officiated by Heng Lee Lee, Member of the Penang State Legislative Assembly for Berapit, representing the Penang State EXCO for Tourism and Creative Economy. Also in attendance were the Dean of the School of the Arts, Assoc Prof. Dr. Muhizam Mustafa, and the Deputy Dean (Academic, Career & Internationalisation), Dr. Muhammad Khizal Mohamed Saat.
RINTIS’26 served as a platform for graduating students to showcase their artistic journeys, innovative ideas, and creative achievements, while reflecting the School’s commitment to nurturing future talents in the arts and creative industries.
Congratulations to all graduating students on their remarkable accomplishments and for successfully presenting a showcase that reflects the future of artistic innovation and creative excellence.
