37 Participants Complete AI-Powered Book Writing Workshop at SOTA USM

PENANG, 9 July 2026 – School of the Arts (SOTA), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), successfully organised the Hands-On Workshop: Write, Structure & Publish Your Book Using AI on 8 and 9 July 2026, bringing together 37 aspiring authors for an engaging two-day learning experience focused on harnessing artificial intelligence in the book writing and publishing process.
Facilitated by Dr. Izdihar Jamil, the workshop introduced participants to practical AI-powered writing tools and techniques to transform ideas into well-structured manuscripts. Throughout the programme, participants learned how to develop compelling book concepts, organise chapters effectively, refine their writing, and explore practical publishing strategies.
The hands-on sessions encouraged participants to experiment with AI as a creative companion while strengthening their storytelling, writing, and content development skills. Through interactive activities and guided exercises, participants progressed from initial ideas to comprehensive book plans, gaining greater confidence in their journey towards becoming published authors.
The workshop concluded with participants leaving equipped with clearer manuscript structures, enhanced writing capabilities, and valuable insights into the publishing landscape. Beyond technical knowledge, the programme fostered creativity, collaboration, and a supportive learning environment where ideas flourished and aspiring writers inspired one another.
SOTA USM extends its sincere appreciation to Dr. Izdihar Jamil for sharing his expertise and to all 37 participants for their enthusiastic participation and commitment throughout the two-day workshop. The success of this programme reflects SOTA USM's continuous commitment to nurturing creativity, embracing digital innovation, and empowering individuals through lifelong learning and creative education.
